The Department of Finance and Economics in the AACSB-accredited Gary W. Rollins College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga ( UTC) invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer in Economics position to begin August 1, 2023. This appointment is renewable each year given satisfactory performance and budget.

Applicants must minimally have a Master’s degree with appropriate coursework in Economics, or preferably, have a Ph.D. in Economics (or closely related field) or be in the ABD stage of their doctoral studies, with expected completion of degree requirements prior to their start date . Demonstrated ability to provide instruction in various modalities (including online) through graduate studies, training, or experience, is also required.

Strong candidates will have compelling evidence of teaching effectiveness. The main teaching responsibilities will be in the undergraduate Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics courses, but candidates should be academically qualified to teach other economics courses. Other areas of need include Healthcare Economics and Environmental Economics. The teaching load is four classes per semester. In addition to teaching, the selected candidate is required to actively participate in professional activities sufficient to maintain appropriate qualifications under AACSB standards.
