  • Master’s degree in computer science or related area required.
  • Five years of experience required. Three to five years of senior/management level experience managing IT operations, preferably in a higher education institution.
  • Minimum Education Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job successfully.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Experience in post-secondary educational setting preferred.
  • Seven years of experience in a senior/management level managing IT operations
  • Experience with IT Infrastructure, IT Governance, Information Security, and IT Service Management is a plus.
Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Compensation A competitive benefit package is included. Special Instructions to Applicants

The Associate Vice Chancellor of IT Operations provides strategic leadership and direction to IT departments responsible for the implementation, operation, and support of enterprise IT infrastructure and core IT services.

● Responsible for college-wide administrative and infrastructure technology needs and services; involvement in coordination and administration of college infrastructure projects; and enabling and enhancing cohesion, process flow, and best practices.
● Manages and directs the successful development and implementation of large-scale initiatives to enable business growth through the creative use of information technology. This may include Chancellor’s Office initiatives and collaborative projects developed in conjunction with the VC/ CIO, college, vendors, and or leadership teams.
● Works with business and product leaders to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology choices influence strategy.
● Responsible for providing reliable quality enterprise IT infrastructure; the design, development, installation, implementation, and operation and maintenance of information systems, including those that support the voice and data networks.
● Responsible for the reliable operation and ongoing upgrade of the campus computer networks, including the operational network security functions.
● Oversees technology design and implementation for campus construction projects (including infrastructure and equipment needs).
● Oversees college-wide user support and enterprise and other applications management.
● Responsible for providing IT services and support to organizational units.
● Oversees the design and implementation of an IT security management program.
● Develops and oversees annual IT budget recommendations in compliance with IT policies and procedures.
● Seeks to reduce costs while enhancing service opportunities and negotiates and reviews vendor contracts and scopes of work per IT and MCC’s policies and procedures.
● Develops and oversees IT disaster recovery strategy to ensure stable and continuous operation of the college’s mission-critical systems and applications. Knowledge

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
