Description

The Senior Care Manager (SCM) is a critical non-clinical leader in the Student Affairs team's efforts to identify, address and support the needs of students of concern. The SCM works to manage risk for struggling students and to promote their personal and academic success.


This is considered a full time, salaried, benefits eligible position. The salary range for the position is $44,600 - $55,700 per year.





Requirements

Core Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the ongoing development, refinement and monitoring of a comprehensive student case management system that ensures sound intervention and response planning, tracking, documentation and follow-through.

  • Serve as critical frontline risk manager around students of concern

  • Administer, or oversee the administration of, the Advocate software platform and supervise the Care Management Coordinator.

  • Maintain a personal caseload of students of concern, providing direct advising and support, at times in high potential risk situations.

  • Lead the Care Management team's participation in regular intake/triage, and referrals meetings with Integrated Care staff.

  • Serve in the College's Administrator on Call rotation

  • Serve as the Co-Chair of CARE team and monitor follow-up interventions and referrals as necessary

  • Manage, in collaboration with Integrated Care and the Class Deans, leaves of absence and returns


General Responsibilities:
Position Prerequisites:

  • Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work or other closely related field strongly preferred. A bachelors and minimum of 7 years of equivalent skills and experience may be substituted for a graduate degree.

  • At least 5 years of case management experience, preferably in higher education contexts.

  • Current knowledge of college student development theory and practice.

  • Current knowledge of and commitment to the work of creating a campus climate of diversity, equity and inclusion for all.

  • Crisis intervention skills

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Must live within, or be willing to move within, 45 minutes of campus to facilitate on call response



Physical Demands:


Some evening and weekend work required, including service in our overnight on call rotation.


Reliable transportation for response to campus or hospital for on call emergencies
