Job Description
The Department of Computing Sciences at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions in Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor to begin fall 2023. Rank will be determined upon qualifications. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are core values of the College of Engineering. The department offers BS and MS degrees in Computer Science, and the Ph.D. degree in Geospatial Computer Science. The department also offers a BS and an MS degree in the area geospatial sciences.
The basic job requirements include: (1) teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, (2) establishing and directing an active and externally funded research program, (3) publishing research results in archival journals or conferences, and (4) advising and recruiting undergraduate and graduate students.
The Department of Computing Sciences prepares students to pursue productive careers and advanced degrees in computer science or geospatial information science. The department faculty direct various research labs including MANTIS , iCORE, AIoE, and Cybersecurity Research and Innovation Lab (CRIL), and have research collaborations with the Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science, Harte Research Institute, and Lone Star Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The department has 21 full-time faculty with more than 300 BS, 200 MS and 20 doctoral students. The department's faculty are active in research areas including machine learning, computer networks, cybersecurity, high performance computing, IoT, UAS, and geospatial systems. It is an exciting time to be part of the department with the formation of the new College of Engineering.

Required Qualifications:
- An earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred at the
time of appointment.
- A strong track record of original research with publications in
leading venues such as IEEE/ACM.
- Ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and
culturally diverse campus community.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels or
evidence of teaching potential and in supervising undergraduate and
graduate students.
- Evidence of grant-funded research and interdisciplinary
expertise.
- Scholarly publications in peer-reviewed venues.
- AI/Machine Learning, especially Generative AI, Explainable AI,
and/or applications of AI to healthcare and business.
- Cybersecurity and Privacy, IoT security, software security, and
cyber-physical systems.
- Mobile software development, game software development,
databases, software engineering, operating systems, programming
languages, distributed systems, cloud computing, and computer
vision.
