Position Summary

The African Studies Institute at the University of Georgia ( https://www.afrstu.uga.edu/ ) invites applications for the position of Academic Professional Associate and Assistant Director, to begin August 1, 2023. This is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure-track faculty position with administrative and instructional duties.

Academic Professional and Assistant Director Responsibilities:
• Teach a 2/2 course load in African Studies
• Serve as coordinator for the Institute’s academic programs
• Plan and execute academic, administrative and social events
• Develop long-term plans and fundraising strategies for the Institute
• Serve as the Institute’s coordinator for all international working relationships
• Assist the African Studies Director in the daily administration of the Institute.
