Position Summary:

Prepares classroom lessons, facilitates classroom programs, and assesses student progress to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development in accordance with established curriculum. Interacts regularly with parents and trains new teachers and students.

Responsibilities

Plans and facilitates classroom programming and schedules daily classroom activities for an early childhood education facility according to established curriculums

Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom

Evaluates individualized and developmental educational plans for children in collaboration with other stakeholders, as needed

Maintains and documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations

Mentors new teachers and students

Qualifications
Required:
  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or related field
  • Qualified to serve as Lead Teacher of a child care center, as reflected on candidate's certificate of achievement from the Wisconsin Registry (Wisconsin Department of Families and Children).
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in an early childhood classroom or related setting
  • Experience in program and curricula development for early childhood programs
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:
  • Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or related field
  • Wisconsin Registry Level of 12 or higher
  • Knowledge or experience supporting 3K or 4K sponsored programs
  • Knowledge or experience working with The Pyramid Model
