Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Creative Services, the Marketing Writer is responsible for creation and production of engaging marketing content for use across various marketing channels. The duties include crafting content and proofreading to ensure the quality and accuracy of marketing messages. The incumbent will write content specific to platforms and mediums to support marketing initiatives in collaboration with teams across the division.
In this role the incumbent will develop a deep understanding of our customers, our brand, and our university in order to create content to inform and inspire stakeholders as well as internal and external constituencies. The Marketing Writer will support various media channels and platforms to produce impactful content that delivers against funnel objectives. In this role the Marketing Writer will have the opportunity to tackle a wide variety of marketing writing projects, as well as to help craft channel-specific content strategies. The ideal candidate is creative, adaptable, a self-starter, a strong communicator, and a proactive team player.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or related.



  • 5 years’ experience writing marketing material for university/ higher ed or related.
  • Portfolio of completed market writing projects that include success metrics measured against KPIs.
  • Excellent writing, editing, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Experience planning and executing marketing plans and initiatives to achieve organization goals.
  • Demonstrated project management experience to manage multiple projects at any given time.
  • Knowledge of writing marketing principles to drive conversions.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience writing and building brand awareness and driving conversions.
  • Experience writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to be creative and craft copy that’s human, relatable, and converts while adhering to brand guidelines
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively in a creative environment and cross functional team.
  • Experience formulating a point of view that both helps define and support the larger brand voice. Strong communication skills, oral as well as written.
  • Experience staying abreast of emerging technologies and incorporating that technology into the workflow.
  • Experience creating compelling content across multiple mediums/platforms: Print, digital, TV, social, OOH and nontraditional.
