Announcement of Vacancy

Campus: Polytechnic

Job # 106975

Position Description

Dr. Wenwei Zheng’s group in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts at Arizona State University invites applications for three full-time, benefits-eligible Postdoctoral Research Scholar positions.  This is a fixed-term, fiscal year (12 month) appointment with a flexible starting date.  The position will be supported by a new five-year NIH R35 grant.  Renewal of this position is based upon satisfactory performance and availability of resources.

The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with researchers in Dr. Zheng’s group and experimental collaborative labs, with high motivations to research in an interdisciplinary field of physics, chemistry, and biology.  The primary responsibility will be to develop computational methods for intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) involved in a variety of biological functions and pathological diseases.  There is no teaching responsibility.

Dr. Zheng’s group (https://www.public.asu.edu/~wzheng38/index.html) has rich experience in computational methods for IDPs including all-atom, coarse-grained and polymer models.  The ongoing research projects include liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) and aggregation of IDPs, IDP interaction network and optimization of enzymes for biodegradation.
