The Center for Aging & Community (CAC) at the University of Indianapolis seeks applications for an Executive Director.

This full-time, grant-funded, 12-month administrator provides overall budgetary, program, and personnel leadership and direction to the CAC in accordance with the mission of the University of Indianapolis. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Executive Director works closely with other academic and administrative leaders on collaborative initiatives.

The Executive Director is responsible for developing and implementing a strong and sustainable mission that also expands funding for and increases the Center’s impact at the University of Indianapolis and in the broader community. The Executive Director leads the CAC by providing vision and strategic planning.

The position serves as the official representative and spokesperson for the Center for Aging & Community to internal and external groups, including University administration, state and regional aging network organizations, state and government agency officials including legislators, the FSSA Division of Aging, the Indiana State Department of Health, and others. The Director leads the future evolution of the Center for Aging & Community as a viable and effective organization within the university that has a significant impact on the quality of life for all people as they age.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the official representative and spokesperson for CAC to internal and external groups, including University administration, state and regional aging network organizations, state and government agency officials including legislators, the FSSA Division of Aging, and the Indiana State Department of Health
  • Develop and implement a strong mission and safeguard the sustainability of that mission
  • Expand funding opportunities for CAC
  • Provide overall budgetary, program, and personnel leadership and direction to CAC in accordance with the mission of the University of Indianapolis
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a professional role that included supervisory responsibilities required; ten years of experience preferred
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in education, non-profit leadership, aging studies, or a related field required; earned doctorate in a relevant field preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing our aging society required
  • Ability to engage various constituent groups in strategic initiatives required
  • This position requires a valid driver's license and a clean or acceptable driving record according to the University Policy
  • Demonstrated record of scholarship and engagement with the professional community preferred
  • History of leadership in grant development/acquisitions and other fundraising activities preferred
