Position Summary

The Department of Population Health, Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center ( PDRC ), College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia is seeking a veterinarian to fill a position in clinical poultry medicine. Responsibilities include clinical services to the poultry industry and major participation in the Master of Avian Medicine and the online Master of Avian Health and Medicine degree programs. This position will be either a non-tenure track clinical assistant or clinical associate professorship or a tenure track assistant or associate professorship depending on qualifications.

Tenure Track Associate Professor
Qualifications: Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent and PhD in a poultry related discipline, board certification or eligibility for certification by the American College of Poultry Veterinarians, and a minimum of 5+ years post-terminal degree experience in industry/academia. Candidates must show clear and convincing evidence of emerging stature as regional and national authorities in their field unless their work assignments are specifically at the local or state level.

Duties/Responsibilities

Provide clinical veterinary service to the poultry industry of Georgia; teaching within the MAM and MAHM Programs; diagnostic lab service through case supervision; mentorship of veterinary, MAM and MAHM students; support of research conducted by the MAM students; act as a conduit of information from the university to industry stakeholders; other activities as requested by diagnostic lab or industry partners.
