About this Opportunity
The Department of Special Education invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor available for the 2022-23 academic year, with the potential for an initial 3-year contract based upon qualifications. This contract is renewable for two additional years after the initial three-year contract. Our department is seeking faculty with strong interpersonal skills and faculty who value collaborative teaching approaches to promote cross-disciplinary knowledge that will serve our graduates in their careers. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable teaching skills in guiding the growth of academic programs and curricula and working experience in teaching.

Description
The Department of Special Education has an Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Special Education available beginning August 2023. Major responsibilities include teaching both on campus and online courses in mild/moderate disabilities, participation in departmental and program area meetings. Service on departmental, college and university committees is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Earned Masters Degree in Special Education from an accredited institution. Experience in schools working directly with students with disabilities.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional experience working in schools among students with mild/moderate disabilities. Active role in special education professional organizations. Successful college-level teaching experience. Experience with online course delivery technology. Interest in quality educator preparation programs for special education teachers.
