Job Description:

The Director of Finance and Business Operations oversees the daily financial and fiscal reporting operations of the Foundation including cash management, accounts payable, and purchasing card program; manages the monthly and year-end closing including analysis and verification of assets, revenues, expenses and fund balances as well as promulgates and manages the Foundation budget; ensures all accounts and funds are analyzed, reconciled appropriately, and discrepancies are corrected; and monitors accounting data to ensure efficient, effective operations that facilitate accurate and reliable reporting.

This position ensures Foundation financial activities comply with GAAP, GASB, and Foundation policies and procedures; supervises, reviews, and prepares financial analysis and reports required for internal reporting as well as external auditing and reporting; implements Foundation and College policies and procedures for gift receipt and management; implements and maintains College wide donor confidentiality policies and procedures; supervises staff in their ethical and accurate fulfillment of their duties; and oversees the reconciliation of balances and payments tied to the College’s scholarship management system and coordinates the payment for all awards.

The Director of Finance and Business Operations presents financial activities to various Foundation and College governing boards; provides guidance on ethical best-practices related to preserving the integrity of donor intent; shares the Foundation mission with internal and external partners as appropriate; oversees the Accounting Specialist and the Facilities and Property Coordinator to ensure College properties leased to the Foundation and Foundation properties and appropriately managed and maintained; coaches direct reports to ensure professional growth that best supports the PSC Foundation; oversees the relationship with coaching and maintenance staff related to the fee-based income received from rental properties and dormitories; and oversees the annual review of policies and procedures. In partnership with the Donor Database and Membership Manager, this position conducts daily, weekly, and/or monthly reconciliation of funds between the Foundation’s instance of Blackbaud software (RaisersEdge and FinancialEdge); supports the successful development and implementation of all PSC Foundation events; and performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master’s degree in accounting or closely related field and three years progressively responsible work experience in the accounting field; or a bachelor’s degree in accounting and five years progressively responsible work experience in the accounting field. Supervisory and budgeting experience necessary. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

SALARY RANGE: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00
