Associate Athletics Director/Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance is responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of the Office of Athletics Compliance under the oversight of the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. The Associate Athletics Director/Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance will implement NCAA, ACC, and Syracuse University policies and procedures. The Associate Athletics Director/Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance will also be the main point of contact for the sport of Football. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree/Juris Doctor preferred
  • Four (4) plus years of direct experience in applying Division I NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Must have practical, working knowledge of Division I NCAA rules and regulations.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform accurate, detailed work under time and external pressures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse groups.
  • Strong supervisory skills and the ability to manage people and job responsibilities.
  • This position requires evening and weekend duties.
  • Administer and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Office of Athletics Compliance.
  • Work with the Director of Compliance, the Associate Director of Compliance, and the Assistant Director of Compliance to monitor, educate, and document all required processes and procedures.
  • Primary compliance contact for the sport of Football as well as 1-2 other sports.
  • Provide NCAA and ACC rules interpretations, waivers, violation self-reports, initial eligibility, and playing and practice seasons for those sports.
  • Supervise Capstone student workers and legal externs.
  • Monitor and oversee the Institution’s complimentary ticket process.
