Job Description:
Professionals in this position will initiate, develop, and maintain relationships/partnerships with industry to support programs that include project-based undergraduate engineering programs. The position will maintain a portfolio of industry supporters and their contributions in the form of time, materials and funds. The position will frequently interact with industry partners, members of Minnesota State Mankato's College of Science, Engineering and Technology, the Twin Cities Engineering (TCE) program, Minnesota State Community College representatives, as well as other units/individuals within Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.) OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two (2) years’ work experience in Business Development, Academic Program Development, Industry Representation, Technical Communications, Project Management, Engineering Industry, or related area.

  • Ability to travel in Metro Minneapolis and St. Paul areas and occasional travel to the Mankato campus. Valid driver’s license (Class D).

  • Able to work some evening hours to accommodate the schedule of clients, courses, and special events.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish professional relationships, especially with high-level managers and engineers and more broadly with industry representatives, students, college faculty, colleagues.

  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in initiating contacts with potential partners.

  • Basic understanding of science and engineering disciplines.

  • Advanced understanding of engineering professional skills.

  • Basic understanding of engineering design process.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills.

  • Ability to participate in program development and assessment.

  • Ability to participate in short/medium/long range strategic planning.

  • Development/Fundraising experience in a higher education setting technology.

Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.

Must be able to drive state vehicles; must have valid driver’s license. Employee should be able to carry a laptop and educational materials as needed.
