Job Description:
Provide leadership and support the development, implementation, and oversight of the University's comprehensive student financial assistance program with emphasis on managing aid application tracking, packaging, and disbursement processes, and the administration of student loan programs and federal and state grant programs. Significant responsibilities include assurance of compliance with federal and state regulations, data collection and reporting, oversight of reconciliation requirements, and serving as the University's subject matter expert on policies related to these programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of application).
  • Three (3) years direct financial aid administration experience in a college/university setting





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Master’s Degree
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal, State, MinnState System, and University financial aid regulations, policies and guidelines necessary to develop, implement and adapt financial aid administrative processes in full compliance with stated requirements.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills
  • Experience communicating complex information effectively to individual and group audiences, both in person and through technology-supported formats
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to apply sound professional judgment to exceptional situations.
  • Competency with complex software applications, specifically database and web-based tools
  • Demonstrated ability to develop visionary and innovative approaches to deliver student financial services and information
  • Ability to articulate personal commitment to improving students’ access to higher education.






Other Requirements:
Attendance at conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings which require travel and overnight stays. National and regional conferences and professional development opportunities.

Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.

Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes: Case by Case/Situational Telework: A position that may include a temporary reassignment or work outside the permanent/principal work location to meet short-term needs. Up to 20% of the time.
