Job Description

The Associate Director of Hokie Wellness for employees reports to the Senior Director for Hokie Wellness. Hokie Wellness for employees reports through Human Resources and is part of the Talent Team. The associate director will serve as the community leader for employee well-being initiatives and will develop and implement educational and service programs to promote the health and wellness of the university community, one of Virginia Tech's core strategic goals. This position will assess need and strategically plan initiatives, programming, and educational outreach to meet the changing needs of Virginia Tech employees. The associate director will supervise a team of wellness professionals and students, and will work with leadership to establish and implement short, and long-range well-being goals and objectives. The associate director will oversee day-to-day operations and fiscal responsibilities as needed for the functional area.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree and significant professional experience in wellness initiatives, health education, public health or another relevant field is required. Significant leadership and supervisory experience and experience delivering wellness programs to employee populations. Experience in marketing, outreach, and promotion of programs; assessment of programs; data analysis to develop best practices and evidence-based programming.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with university policy and procedures related to employee assistance programs, childcare, eldercare, back-up care, etc. Experience in physical, social, community, financial, career, and mental/emotional well-being programming.

Commensurate with experience with a salary range of $65,000-$85,000 per year
