Job Description

The Department of Applied Business Studies is seeking applicants for a 9-month, non-tenure track Marketing faculty position to start August 2023. This is an exciting position that will join an innovative and growing program. A student-oriented Instructor is sought who has a passion for teaching Marketing and who is committed to staying abreast of this rapidly changing field.

Minimum Qualifications:

Teaching excellence is a primary consideration. The ideal candidate should be comfortable teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing. A Master’s degree with 18 hours of Marketing or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities: The position is a 9-month non-tenure track Instructor position. Responsibilities generally include teaching five three-hour courses (15 credit hours) per semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels in classes that range from 15-35 students. The selected candidate will stay current in the field through scholarly activity and will also participate in departmental, college, and university activities. Faculty also interact with students by providing professional mentoring for Marketing majors.

About the Department: The Department of Applied Business Studies (ABS) is one of four departments in the Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship at FHSU and offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate instruction. Currently, the degrees and majors offered by the department are a BBA in Marketing, a BS in Business Education, and a BS/BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management. All of these degrees are offered through distance learning and face-to-face instruction. The department is involved in international partnerships. Additionally, the department contributes to teaching Marketing courses in the college’s MBA program.

Description: The college consists of four large and growing departments: Applied Business Studies; Economics, Finance, and Accounting; Informatics; and Management and consists of more than 50 full-time faculty supported by key staff. In addition to a wide range of undergraduate programs, it has a large Master of Business Administration program and offers Master of Professional Studies degrees in Human Resource Management and varying areas of Informatics as well as graduate work in the area of Corporate Communications and Business Education. On-campus students majoring in these academic areas number approximately 800 and online students number 1370. The RCOBE is housed in the historic, but recently remodeled McCartney Hall and Hammond Hall. In addition to on-campus offerings, the college offers several undergraduate and graduate degrees on-line. Community of Hays

FHSU is located in Hays, a vibrant college town of approximately 20,000, located halfway between Kansas City and Denver on Interstate 70.
