Description

Seeking a dynamic, organized, systems thinker to support the Vice President of Academic Affairs office and Dean of the Faculty. This position manages the faculty appointment process and electronic system for all new faculty appointments, tracks and administers classification changes, coordinates and faculty reviews. Serves as the faculty information system leader and is the primary point of contact for faculty data for reporting to the Board of Directors and other internal and external stakeholders. Runs reports for individuals or departments as needed.


This is considered a full-time hourly benefits eligible position. The salary range for the position is $25.45 - $31.80 per hour.





Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Manages Academic affairs data.

  • Creates faculty contracts and coordinates faculty reviews.

  • Monitors and implements changes to academic policies.

  • Supports faculty meetings, including scheduling, recording meeting minutes, and disseminating information as appropriate.

  • Helps track and execute elections for Faculty committees.

  • Coordinates Faculty academic leave program in collaboration with Dean of Faculty Research & Development.


Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree required.


Experience:



  • 3-4 years previous administrative experience. Previous experience in an academic setting preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:



  • Advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.

  • Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects. Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.

  • Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

  • Technical understanding of complex processes, governance structures, and procedures.

  • Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions.

  • Preferred knowledge of disciplinary structures of higher education.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Must handle confidential information discreetly.


Physical Demands:



  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Frequently sitting.

  • Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

  • Availability to work occasional overtime on weekends or evenings to complete time sensitive projects.
