Job Summary

The Career Strategies Office at Drexel University School of Law seeks applications for the position of Director. This is a full-time professional position. Some travel may be required. The Director will be part of a team that is responsible for: 1) developing relationships with legal employers in the Philadelphia legal community and surrounding counties, as well as Southern New Jersey; 2) creating educational programs on professional development, practice areas, and job search skills; and 3) advising law students and alumni on job search strategies. The Director is part of a team under the supervision of the Associate Dean.

Essential Functions

  • Conducting outreach, marketing, and building relationships with employers, including scheduling employer visits.
  • Providing individual career advising, resume and cover letter review, interview training, and job search resources to students and alumni.
  • Working on data collection, including At-Grad and 10-month post-graduate employment data for ABA, US News, and NALP.
  • Planning, coordinating, and presenting educational programs and events on law career development and professionalism.
  • Managing recruiting events such as on-campus interview programs and job fairs.
  • Developing effective working relationships with Law School faculty, staff, students, and alumni, along with other placement professionals throughout the United States (NALP, GPALS, LRAP). Participation on committees.


  • Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree,
    • Five or more years of prior career services, recruiting, or legal marketing experience required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Juris Doctor Degree.
    Position requires in-depth knowledge of the legal profession, excellent organizational, interpersonal, communications, and counseling skills.
    Familiarity with the Philadelphia legal community is desirable.

    Additional selection criteria include:
    broad knowledge of legal career opportunities; knowledge of employment trends and professional development issues in the legal profession; proficiency with creative uses of technology and information management, including Simplicity; the capacity to work constructively and to build effective relationships with diverse constituencies; and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
