Job Summary

A full-time technician position is available in the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology, Drexel University College of Medicine. The research focus in the lab is to understand the molecular mechanisms of pain with emphasis on epigenetics. Prior experience or familiarity with animal surgery, pain behavior tests, cell/tissue culture, and microscope image analysis is highly desirable but not mandatory. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with bachelor’s degree in biology, strong work ethic, methodical approach to new challenges and attention to details. In addition to these experimental responsibilities, this individual will carry out a variety of logistical and maintenance tasks including ordering of lab supplies.

Essential Functions
  • Place lab orders
  • Perform experiments including mouse behavior studies
  • Maintain accurate records of research findings and data analysis
  • Train or help students as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience
Physical Demands
  • Typically sitting at a desk/table
  • Typically standing, walking
  • Lifting demands ≤ 25lbs
