Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor - School of Law

About the Opportunity

Northeastern University School of Law is seeking candidates for full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks within the law school whose research, teaching, professional experience, and/or service have prepared them to contribute to our holistic commitment to the rule of law, social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are looking for candidates with a scholarly focus in an array of fields, including but not limited to criminal law and procedure, civil procedure, reproductive rights, environmental law and sustainability, health law, intellectual property, racial justice, technology, privacy, voting rights/democratic governance and the internet economy.

In addition, opportunities are available for candidates whose background and qualifications might allow for a faculty appointment within the law school as well as within one of the other departments within Northeastern University's many outstanding schools and colleges. Such opportunities exist for candidates whose primary areas of interest include but are not limited to health law (including public health, mental health; pharmaceutical law; disease control; digital health and telemedicine); artificial intelligence and data privacy (including algorithmic justice; regulation of global and social media; and control of misinformation); law of the internet economy (including regulation of block chain technology; financial regulation; and data security) and sustainability and resilience (including all aspects of environmental regulation, climate change; environmental justice and urban affairs).

The School of Law has long been a national leader in experiential legal education, with a deep commitment to law in service of the public interest and to engaged scholarship and interdisciplinary collaboration. In making faculty appointments, the School of Law seeks to enhance its innovative curriculum, which combines experiential learning with rigorous analytical training and interdisciplinarity.

Northeastern University has a strong tradition of diversity and accessibility. The search committee is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. We encourage applications from racial and ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ community. We also encourage applicants to share how their background and experience will contribute to the Northeastern community.

We continue to enthusiastically welcome nominations and applications from members of groups that have been underrepresented in academia. Successful candidates will have demonstrated commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.

If you have questions, please contact the faculty appointments administrator, Stephen Evans, at s.evans@northeastern.edu, or committeee chair, Professor Jeremy Paul, at j.paul@northeastern.edu.
