Director of Strategic Partnerships
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Dean & CEO of the Charlotte Campus, the Director of Strategic Partnerships will serve as a member of the regional campus leadership team, responsible for the strategy and implementation of new and innovative initiatives and partnerships to better connect the regional campus priorities with the employment and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the region. This position plays a key role in realizing the vision of Northeastern University in Charlotte and all the activities that the academic enterprise entails to position the University as a strong asset in the region in the development of the Center for Health Sciences and the growth of the Charlotte campus as a whole.
The Director of Strategic Partnerships plays a lead role in leveraging the institutional commitment and expertise of the campus to build, expand, and nurture strategic partnerships/relationships within the Charlotte community and with the healthcare, corporate, industry, philanthropic, governmental, and public sectors in the Charlotte North Carolina Region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education
Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a relevant field
healthcare field. Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Superior skills in corporate outreach and business
development
- An understanding of Healthcare and Health Sciences education in
the southeast United States.
- Familiarity with the impact of clinical experiences as part of
health education programs.
- Mission-driven, with a passion for broadening participation in
health sciences, workforce pipelines, and innovation in
healthcare
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in
health science education and research.
- Knowledge of business development, partnerships, and project
management.
- Ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives and follow
through to completion. Excellent management, organizational,
interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A high degree of self-motivation and self-direction is
essential, coupled with a proven track record of collaborative
work. Demonstrated track record of success in sales and/or
relationship management.
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment to deliver against
shared goals.
- Effective communicator and collaborator with an ability to
motivate others towards shared goals.
- Ability to track activity and report results via CRM system
(Salesforce); active use of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff across Colleges
& departments including Deans, Associate Deans, Program
Directors, and other academic administrators
- Organizational tact and diplomacy; possesses superb
interpersonal skills required to develop close relationships with
external partners and key influencers around campus and the broader
University.
- Demonstrated ability to build internal and external
collaborations, finding solutions benefiting all parties and
focusing on long-term success over short-term results. Ability to
serve as an ambassador for the University in the region;
representing the Dean and campus strategic interests when
appropriate
- Flexibility for frequent travel within the region and as needed
to Boston/NU regional campuses.
