· Bachelor’s degree.

· Two (2) years full-time, directly related work experience

· Minimum Education Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Preferred qualifications:
· Master’s degree in education, counseling or related field
· Knowledge of TRIO
· Experience working with traditionally underrepresented populations such as potential first generation/ low-income individuals and Veterans
· Experience in assisting individuals with postsecondary educational processes
· Experience conducting presentations to diversified populations
· Ability to handle confidential matters judiciously and knowledge of FERPA
· Effective computer skills, including the ability to use database software to access and input participant information
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record prior to driving on district business.
· Experience with FAFSA completion and knowledge of resources to cover postsecondary costs

Work Hours
- Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work some evenings and/or weekends.

Compensation The annual salary is $49,935. A competitive benefit package is included. Special Instructions to Applicants

Incumbents assist students with academic programs which include enrollment processes, course offerings, fees, course selection, test scores, financial aid eligibility and options, and other resources that will help students meet their educational and occupational needs Typical Essential Duties
· Serve as a source of knowledge and information regarding postsecondary educational and financial aid opportunities.

· Assist with the completion of admission applications, Free Application for Federal Student Aid applications and other financial aid documents as needed

· Communicate effectively with students to identify their needs related to areas of career interest, college readiness and selection

· Awareness of and referral to additional resources to assist participants with overcoming potential barriers

· Utilize databases and other online systems to enter, retrieve and/or research information and maintain student documentation

· Represent the Educational Opportunity Center at events promoting the program’s mission and services provided

· Conduct outreach and establish partnerships with outside agencies, especially those working with underrepresented individuals

· Accurately document services provided to participants and collect/maintain the necessary documentation to meet federal regulations

· Participate in a collaborative work environment

· Attend state, regional and national conferences, workshops, committees and webinars/seminars to better understand and maintain a working knowledge of educational programs, policies, requirements, student services, advising and the building of a professional network.

· Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes;
· Knowledge of workshop and program principles and operations;
· Knowledge of presentation principles and practices;

. Skilled in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information.
