Director of Admissions


Northwood University seeks a Director of Admissions to be responsible for leading and implementing a strategic campus visit plan and experience that yields enrollment conversion across all program areas to meet or exceed targeted goals.



Key Responsibilities : (This list represents, but is not inclusive of all related responsibilities an employee may be required to perform.)

· support and advance Northwood University’s Vision, Mission, Values, Code of Ethics, and Outcomes;

· provide leadership, direction, advocacy, communication, and coordination regarding enrollment management to all campus admissions team in collaboration with the Vice President of Undergraduate Enrollment|Financial Aid;

· be responsible for assisting the Vice President of Undergraduate Enrollment Management|Financial Aid in hiring a diverse group of admissions professionals and support staff;

· lead in maintaining positive relationships with personnel representing high schools, community colleges, community organizations, social service agencies, and businesses and industry;

· have working knowledge of Student Information Systems, CRM, and understand the correlation of those functions to assist with recruiting and retention of new students

· Have a working knowledge of data analytics and how to leverage

· Understand geofencing and datamining and help implement a system to leverage new students

· assist in the identification, development, and dissemination of publications and promotional materials designed to enhance college enrollment;

· plan and assist with recruitment events including but not limited to Open Houses, VEI State Competition, and Bus Trips;

· lead the development and implementation of creative ideas to enhance enrollment outcomes;

· collaborate with Career Services to strengthen awareness of career outcomes;

· create and organize a robust a new student orientation experience;

· collaborate with other NU departments on initiatives to improve campus experience and enrollment

· oversee the student ambassador team and manage their engagement process & tracking;

· lead in managing departmental budgets;

· review prospective student applications for acceptance/committee review/denial. Participate in the probationary review committee;

· serve on policy-making committees at the campus and system level;

· continually review data and research to identify prospective student concerns relative to college search and enrollment potential;

· process statistical information, forecast and analyze reports of historical data, and current and potential enrollment opportunities;

· attend and participate in Enrollment Process Review meetings

· schedule and manage an assigned recruitment territory in order to meet student enrollment goals;

· advise and counsel prospective students and parents on admission policies, academic programs, financial aid and academic scholarships, housing options, student life and student services, when needed;



Expectations :

· report directly to the Vice President of Undergraduate Enrollment Management|Financial Aid;

· be responsible for setting and achieving enrollment goals;

· manage the image and competitive advantage of institution;

· collaborate across campus, system and central functional areas to ensure service excellence;

· promote and ensure ongoing transparency through excellent communication techniques;

· make timely submission of all reporting; and

· be responsible for projects related, or not related, to Admissions as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree, Masters’ Degree preferred or experience equivalent to a Master’s degree

· demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills;

· minimum of 5 years admissions and higher education experience

· minimum of 3 years’ experience managing people;

· valid driver's license at time of hire and maintain valid driver’s license while employed;

· demonstrated experience working in a team environment and ability to manage projects from inception to implementation;

· experience in hiring, supervising, management decision-making, and team development;

· strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and adhere to a time sensitive schedule;

· experience in budget management;

· the ability to analyze and interpret statistics and data, and sensitivity to issues related to recruitment and retention of a diverse student body are required;

· the ability to perform work with various computer applications, such as an application for admission or customer relationship manger (CRM);

· initiate and ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision;

· ability to work with culturally diverse populations;

· demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint;

· additional skills that will benefit NU, such as data analytics experience;

· valid Passport, if required to travel internationally.
