The School of Public Health at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full‐time, non-tenure, Instructional Assistant/Associate Professor for the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health. The successful candidate will work both independently and with multidisciplinary and academic teams to teach courses in environmental health, occupational safety, and other areas of public health, provide academic advising and mentoring for Master of Public Health students, and contribute to public health pedagogy through scholarship. The teaching load is seven courses per year; percent effort is 90% teaching and 10% service and scholarly activities. This 9-month appointment would start August 1, 2023, although an earlier start date is possible. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled; however for best consideration candidates should apply prior to December 31, 2022.

About the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health 
The department (https://public-health.tamu.edu/departments/eoh/index.html) has 15 full time faculty members, is the administrative home of the Ergonomics Center and the Center for Population Health and Aging and trains approximately 60 graduate students annually. It offers a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety and Health, and Doctor of Public Health (DrPH). Additionally, Environmental and Occupational Health faculty teach in the School’s undergraduate degree program, which has nearly 1,000 students, including a minor in Occupational Safety and Health, available to all Texas A&M majors.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree, DrPH, PhD or equivalent degree, with a focus in environmental health, occupational safety, or a related field from an accredited school of public health or related educational institution.
