Essential Functions
- Manages day-to-day responsibilities, processes, and projects in the Office of the President.
- Takes ownership of correspondence and scheduling with internal and external constituents on behalf of the president, when appropriate. Manages the president’s calendar and drafts formal communications.
- Distributes work that does not require the president’s attention to appropriate campus partners, including the President’s Cabinet and other senior leadership.
- Assists the president with developing meeting agendas for Cabinet, Administrative Council, and Advisory Council meetings. Compiles meeting notes and organizes action items and key takeaways from meetings, providing follow-up when necessary.
- Collects information, compiles reports, and develops presentation materials.
- Maintains an elevated level of service for those who interact with the Office of the President and fosters positive relationships with employees at all levels of the University.
- Represents the University with a high degree of professionalism.
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail in all settings.
- Oversees record retention and archival of appropriate information.
- Provides budgetary oversight for designated budgets.
- Ensures continuous training and professional development for the staff in the Office of the President.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
- Supports the University’s mission, vision, and values.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Acts as a sounding board for the president and offers ideas and suggestions when requested.
- Serves on committees and task forces as designated by the president.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent technology skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to examine complex situations and to articulate information to various populations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, and a high degree of professionalism
- Ability to work some non-standard hours as required by Board meetings and other events
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Five years of experience in an executive assistant role with increasing responsibility
