Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., 40 hours per week

Pay Grade/Pay Range: 56.56, $55,485 $ 69,357 *Actual pay depends on qualifications

Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Employee Engagement and Development, the Learning and Development Specialist will assess, develop, design, implement, and evaluate training and development programs for employees. They will also coordinate employee engagement initiatives and activities to include employee recognition programs.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field of study or equivalent work experience.
Three years of training experience related to the job duties and responsibilities specified.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees.
Strong presentation skills.
Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and in consultation with departmental offices.
  • Plans, develops, organizes, and implements a comprehensive development and engagement programs to include leadership/supervisory development, compliance, DEI, skills training, recognition, and engagement for employees at all levels of the organization
  • Designs and develops training materials, which could include presentations, instructional videos, and/or written documentation and job aids, to meet specific training needs
  • Facilitates training and development programs using various formats including face-to-face, hybrid, Zoom, and/or e-Learning
  • Maintains registration/attendance records of employees to prepare reports and studies on training programs and activities; evaluates the success and/or failure of such programs continuously for relevancy and impact to the college
  • Coordinate day-to-day program management and support of college-wide employee engagement programs and initiatives, such as employee awards and recognition
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative professional relationships with college personnel, including HR leadership team, college committees, faculty development and other internal stakeholders, to plan training sessions and programming
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in employee engagement and training & development
