Job Description:
The Fullerton College Department of Theatre Arts is actively seeking applications for part-time Lecturers of Musical Theatre with the department of Theatre Arts beginning Fall 2022. The Musical Theatre program at Fullerton College offers a rapidly growing 2-year accredited conservatory-style certificate program within the Theatre Arts department.

Successful candidates will work in close cooperation with the Musical Theatre Program Coordinator and report to the Department coordinator of the Theatre Arts Department. Responsibilities include accompanying musical theatre performance courses, teaching Musical Theatre Ensemble Voice, as well as serving as music director for our mainstage musical productions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/ performance


Bachelor’s or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance


Master’s in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities


Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area


The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of piano and music skills as related to musical theatre repertoire.
Strong professional development as a music director within the industry, a knowledge of current trends in the professional industry, and the skills required to work within those trends.

Teaching experience in one or more of the instructional areas mentioned in the job description.

Ability to collaborate as a member of an artistic team.

Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Expertise in culturally responsive teaching in theater arts, particularly as it relates to the relevance of theater arts to student’s lives, interest, and communities; demonstrated ability to address equity gaps of racially minoritized groups within theater arts.
