University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, part time “non-exempt”, non-benefited position through 12/31/2023 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Salary: $24.00-$28.50 per hour.

Program Summary:

The CSUSB Department of Nursing (DON) and its faculty continuously strive to enact its mission to be the center of excellence in nursing education. The Department offers two nursing degrees, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). The bachelor's degree has three program tracks, the prelicensure BSN, for students who do not possess a Registered Nurse (RN) license, the RN-BSN track for students who possess an RN license, and the Concurrent Enrollment Pathway for associate-degree seeking students who are attending a community college while dually enrolled in one BSN course at CSUSB. The master's degree offers three concentrations, Population Health, Nursing Education, and Public Health Nurse.

Work Schedule

Up to 19 hours per week. Schedule to be arranged, but typically, Monday-Friday within the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm though some nights, weekend work may be required.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the PI and Co-PI, the Simulation Technician will work independently to:
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop or plan and implement simulated learning that meets the students' learning objectives.
  • Prepare and set up the simulated environment including moulage to maximize student learning.
  • Plan and publish schedules for simulation.
  • Coordinates maintenance of equipment and supplies in the skills/sim lab.
  • Plan, discuss, and implement areas for improvement with faculty and students.
  • Assist with sim/skills lab inventory.
  • Recommend creative solutions for simulations.
  • Collaborate and train with updated simulators.
  • Provide faculty with innovative simulations.
  • Collect and report simulation data to PI, Co-PI, and other DON committees
  • Other position related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 6+ months with simulation technology
  • Other: Proficient in simulations, NLN guidelines and/or other standards. Good customer service skills

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced in preparing, implementing, and debriefing in simulations.
