Flagler College welcomes applications for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Mathematics (depending upon qualifications), to join a young and growing Mathematics and Technology Department, beginning in August 2023.

We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar who is dedicated to excellence in mathematics instruction, demonstrated through varied and innovative pedagogy. Preference will be given to candidates who show potential for mentoring undergraduate research, collaborating across disciplines, and recruiting students to our new majors and minors.

The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in teaching introductory statistics and upper level mathematics.

This is a full-time, tenure-track equivalent position. The annual teaching load is 4/4. In addition to standard Fall and Spring semesters, there are also opportunities to teach summer courses, as well as high-impact, compressed courses in our Jan-term and Maymester FlagSHIP program. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with rank and experience.

Future promotion in rank will be based upon review and evaluation of the successful candidate’s teaching, professional development/scholarship, and service in accordance with the College’s guidelines.

Flagler College is a small, comprehensive college grounded in the Liberal Arts tradition. Flagler is a student-oriented institution that values high-impact practices, such as interdisciplinary and community-based learning. The Department of Mathematics and Technology currently offers majors and minors in both Mathematics and Computer Information Systems. The faculty teach courses designed for each of these majors, as well as service courses for other majors on campus. Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics or a terminal degree in a closely related field.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate mathematics and/or statistics.
  • A commitment to mentoring students.
  • An active scholarly agenda.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with program development and program accreditation; interdisciplinary study and work; mathematics and computer applications; undergraduate academic advising; and dedication to a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
