We are seeking a Research Assistant in the
Division of Quantitative Sciences in the Department of Oncology at
The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. The
Research Assistant will help with mathematical analysis and
modeling of cancer.
- Providing mathematical and programming support in the development of bioinformatics tools for the analysis of preclinical and clinical tumor samples, working closely with faculty and other students.
- Development of software packages and providing programming support for interpreting and summarizing analyses generated under faculty supervision.
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and optimization of methods.
- Assisting in analytical preparations for grants, publications, and scientific meetings.
- Providing other support for research activities as
needed.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Carries out routine duties and responsibilities with supervision.
- Makes decisions and establishes work priorities on essentially procedure-oriented operations.
- Exchanges routine scientific information, and describes methods and results appropriately - good oral and written communication skills are required.
- Must have independent analytical skills to program and interpret data and simulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Knowledge of mathematical methods used in bioinformatics tools,
including latent space analysis and mathematical modeling as
examples.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as R, python for
software development
- Additional related experience may substitute for required
education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency
formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some related experience highly preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $16.75 - $23.00/hr (Commensurate with
experience)

for the respective job.
