Starting Salary Range: $64,137 to $98,451 per year, salary placement determined by documented education and experience; maximum initial salary step placement on the faculty salary schedule is step 9. An annual doctoral stipend of $4,282 is granted to eligible faculty.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY: This full-time, tenure track instructor will enjoy a 175-Day work schedule. The position is for Fall, 2023 and begins on Monday, August 21, 2023 pending Governing Board ratification. Classes may be in a traditional "in class" setting, online, or hybrid format scheduled over summer and/or winter months, and at various campus locations including days, evenings, and/or weekends.
Teaching assignments may be in the core areas of introduction to programming using C++, Java, or Python, introduction to computer science, computer literacy, technology tools for college majors, data structures and algorithms, discrete mathematics, or elementary computer organization, etc. Other assignments may include elective courses such as internet programming, database topics, mobile application, game development, and other topics. Professional assignments include attendance at faculty meetings, curriculum development, and related duties as required or assigned.

About the Department:
The Computer Science program is intended to meet the needs of students majoring in computer science, computer engineering, and students from other science disciplines where computer programming is required.
The Computer Science Department supports the Cabrillo College mission by serving a large and diverse population of students with multiple educational needs. Our ultimate aim is to provide courses of high academic standards so that students may attain their personal and professional goals.
Within the Computer Science Department, Cabrillo College offers a degree program, four certificates of achievement, and two skills certificates. The Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree program transfers to four-year colleges and universities. Our primary transfer partners include the University of California at Santa Cruz, San Jose State University, and California State University, Monterey Bay.
