Associate/Assistant Professor in Animal & Dairy Science (Tenure Track) – The Department of Animal & Dairy Science at Delaware Valley University invites qualified applicants to apply for a fulltime, 9-month, tenure track position beginning in the Fall 2023 semester. This position will start at the Associate or Assistant level, depending on the candidate’s qualifications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching the following courses:
- Animal Anatomy and Physiology lecture and lab
- Introduction to Animal Science lecture and lab
- Alternative Ag Animal Production
- Animal Genetics
- Dairy Cattle Judging
- Physiology of Lactation
- Dairy Data Systems
- Dairy Systems & Management
Depending on the successful candidate’s expertise and departmental needs dictate, other courses may be added. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include student advising and maintaining regular office hours, developing, and maintaining contacts within the industry, participation in curriculum development, remaining current in the field, service on faculty committees as assigned or elected, participation in professional development activities, attending regularly scheduled faculty, department and other required meetings, assisting with departmental needs and participation in outcomes assessments.
The position requires a Ph.D. in Animal Science or D.V.M. with relevant experience. Additional requirements include experience teaching at the undergraduate level, excellent oral and written communication skills, commitment to undergraduate education, student mentoring, ongoing educational development and scholarship, and the willingness to work as part of a team.
