The Assistant Director for Student Outreach provides vital leadership to the Skidmore College Opportunity Program (OP), a program designed for economically and academically disadvantaged students and a source of student diversity for the College. The Assistant Director manages a portfolio of OP programs and initiatives which support the institutional enrollment goals and Skidmore’s Strategic Plan . The Assistant Director is responsible for the development and delivery of personal, social, and academic support for and advising of OP students; the organization of the mentoring program; and the collection and reporting of data needed for the New York State Department of Education and the Kettering Foundation. - The Assistant Director coordinates and assesses the Summer Academic Institute (SAI), a five-week summer bridge program designed to deliver a high-quality pre-college academic experience for students, introduce them to the rigors of the Skidmore curriculum, and facilitate their immersion into the Skidmore and Saratoga Springs communities.
- The successful candidate will hire and train the summer staff, communicate with the incoming students, and collaborate with a range of offices to ensure the program’s success.
Education: Master’s degree in a related field is required, with a minimum of five years of professional experience in higher education.
