Position Summary

Within the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, Research Finance and Business Administration seeks a detail-oriented, adaptable, organized, and communicative individual to provide high-level business coordination for compliance units.

The Research Integrity Business Coordinator (BC) will be responsible for a broad set of assignments related to research administration, including work in Animal Welfare Services and Research Compliance Services. This position will require the ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment, and exercise creative problem-solving skills while providing high-level administrative, customer service, and business coordination to multiple research staff and faculty. This will include supporting the university's Research Administration Portal (RAP), purchasing, and financial operations. Successful support of RAP will require some knowledge of compliance activities. The BC will interact regularly and communicate with external constituents, administrative colleagues, faculty, and students.

This position will report directly to the Assistant Vice President of Research Integrity, with support from the Divisional Budget Director, and supervise student and temp employees. Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree PLUS 2 years of progressively responsible experience in business, finance, compliance or human resources administration.
    OR
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in business, finance or compliance administration.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with close attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with overlapping deadlines and frequent interruptions while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with software programs including: human resource and financial platforms, MS Office Suite, Google Suite and Adobe.
  • Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
    Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Management, Public Administration or a closely related field.
  • 1+ years of project management experience related to business or finance administration in higher education, research organizations or a related environment.
  • 1+ years of human resource administration and programs such as PageUp People.
  • 1+ years of experience with A/P and A/R.
  • Experience providing customer service in a professional environment.
  • Experience with BANNER, Concur, QuickBooks, and/or similar financial information systems.
