Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions Operations works as part of a team responsible for the design, maintenance, and support of the undergraduate CRM (Slate by Technolutions), and plays a key role with respect to systems, technology, and data management for the Office of Admissions. Experience with student information systems, document management, workflows, and an understanding of recruiting and admissions is preferred.

The primary role is to provide technical expertise and support in the development, management, and usage of systems, databases, reports, and data used by the Office of Admissions in order to recruit, admit, and enroll students. The Associate Director will partner with and provide technical and data-related services, support, and training to Admissions teams related to records management and data retention, reading online applications, and form building.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 5-8 years of experience in higher education is preferred
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge
  • Experience with a CRM, preferably Slate by Technolutions
Job Specific Qualifications
  • High level of technical knowledge, problem solving ability and Syracuse University systems, i.e., Slate, PeopleSoft, Data Warehouse, Tableau, etc.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong, effective working relationships with colleagues, key stakeholders, internal and external partners, and campus leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertise and business needs.
  • Ability to maintain good customer relations with clients and external vendors and partners.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data and information with security and care.
  • Skilled in communication data analysis and analytics.
Responsibilities
  • Analyzing and documenting user needs, existing and new policies, processes, procedures, and operational methods to consider possible improvements to new and existing systems.
  • Collaboration with the Enrollment Services CRM team and Admissions staff to best leverage CRM to support and enhance Admissions goals and functions.
  • Creating and maintaining queries, rules, reports, and other CRM functionality, sometimes utilizing SQL .
  • Writing and maintaining documentation for CRM front-end use and functional development.
  • Operational maintenance and data integrity of admissions databases.
