Job Summary:
This is a full-time faculty position for someone to teach upper and lower-level Dance courses including Dance techniques and choreography.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teaching upper and lower-level Dance courses.
- Ability to choreograph and manage the student dance company projects. Producing and/or choreographing for departmental concerts and community performances.
- Engage in departmental and University activities.
- Engage in recruiting for dance majors.
Education:
- MFA in Dance or other terminal degree in dance or related discipline
- 3 years of teaching dance and working with students.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Ability to teach two or more of the following; African dance, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Improvisation musical theatre.
- Experience working with student dance company.
- Prior experience working with diverse population of students in urban environment Previous experience advising and mentoring dance majors.
- Evidence of training students in a specific movement technique.
- Ability to teach both on line and face to face.
