Position Summary

The Health Department has approximately 200 undergraduate and graduate students across our majors in healthcare management, human service studies, community health and school health education. The department also provides required courses for a number of degree programs across the college. The department is seeking a faculty member with a background and expertise in the area of Healthcare Management/Administration or Human Services.
Major Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Teach courses and assess learning among undergraduate and graduate health majors. Priority areas of instruction include: healthcare policy, healthcare finance, health information management & technology, healthcare operations, management of healthcare and human service agencies, post-acute and long-term care, and case management. Other areas will depend on individual expertise and could include coursework related to behavioral health, mental health and counseling, health problems of the underserved, and fieldwork/internship supervision.
- Provide service to the Health Department, the School of Professional Studies, the SUNY Cortland campus community, the State University of New York, and/or the local/state/national health profession.
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the programs and culminating experience advisement and assessment.
- Engage in scholarly work and activities as appropriate to the application and receipt of tenure and promotion at SUNY Cortland.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships
- Reports to the academic department chair
- Works closely with department faculty
- Earned doctorate in healthcare management/administration, human services, or closely related field. Doctoral candidates, all but dissertation ( ABD ) may be considered with expected completion of doctorate one year from appointment date. Please note: Reappointment will not be considered without completed doctorate prior to review date.
- Professional preparation, and/or experience in healthcare management/administration, human services, or closely related field.
- Relevant teaching experience in healthcare management/administration, human services, or health services at the college level.
- Professional experience in healthcare management/administration, human services, or health services.
- Experience with designing and delivering online programs and courses.
