The Department of East Asian Studies at New York University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor in Korean language position with an appointment beginning on September 1, 2023. Duties include teaching first-year through post-advanced (fourth year) Korean, normally six courses per academic year, active program involvement in language and culture activities, and close collaboration with faculty to build a rigorous and cohesive program. The position is subject to budgetary and administrative approval.

Compensation:
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary for this position is $70,000. New York University considers factors such as ( but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Eligibility requirements: Master’s degree in teaching Korean as a foreign language, linguistics, language pedagogy, and second language acquisition, or related field; native/near-native proficiency in Korean and English. The successful candidate must be able to teach at all levels from first-year to post-advanced-level language courses.
