Job Description Summary
The Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) at Bentley University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer position for Academic Year 2023-24 starting in July 2023.

The CIS department offers programs at the undergraduate and graduate level (see https://catalog.bentley.edu/undergraduate/courses/cs/ and https://catalog.bentley.edu/graduate/graduate-courses/cs/ ). The CIS faculty's teaching and scholarly interests encompass several areas of Information Systems and Computer Science (see http://bit.ly/CIS_Faculty ).

The successful candidate is an organized and creative teacher who will serve as the coordinator for the department's CS 100 course, Solving Business Problems with Information Technology (see https://bit.ly/CIS_Undergraduate ). CS 100 is a required course for all first-year students, and the department offers 20+ sections each fall and spring semester. The course coordinator is responsible for hiring and training adjunct faculty, selecting learning materials, working with the publisher's representatives, and developing a template site for the university's learning management system, training adjunct faculty, creating syllabi, schedules, standardized exams and assignments for all sections. The CS 100 course coordinator receives one course release per semester.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
