Position Overview:

This position is responsible for developing, delivering, and assessing instructional content in Hybrid Learning. This position will support instructional and disciplinary expertise in Conservation Law Enforcement and related programming with broad expertise in a related area such as criminal law, criminology, or natural resource management. Courses may include but are not limited to those addressing evidence and criminal procedure, criminal justice, and communication for law enforcement. Hybrid Learning faculty support transdisciplinary thought and contribute to the foundational support of our transdisciplinary approach to education. Teaching expectations are based on student credit hour generation. Faculty are responsible for teaching, scholarship, and service to the mission of the College. This position will support Conservation Law Enforcement student success, career networking, completion rates, course instruction, development and program review.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Build, oversee, and promote a robust, multi-location low residency Conservation Law Enforcement degree program.
  • Accountable for ensuring recruitment, retention and graduation targets are met.
  • Responsible for budget, personnel, curriculum, and strategic planning for the program to grow to a 2.5-million-dollar operation based on revenue from tuition and room and board.
  • Expected to work professionally with diverse external and internal constituencies to promote the program, College and its mission.
  • In conjunction with the Vice President of Hybrid Learning, develop a vigorous program of external networking to establish partnerships to connect the program to key industry participants.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Academics on a variety of initiatives, including professional development, course development, program development, and other learning and student success opportunities.
  • Accountable for oversight of the program curriculum including scheduling, staffing, academic program review and assessment, curriculum development, and academic planning.
  • Through the Learning Management Software (LMS) system and in collaboration with the Instructional Designers, implement appropriate pedagogical techniques for the hybrid learning environment, and provide course materials in a professional, appropriate, clear, and rigorous manner.



Required:
  • The ideal candidate will have a Masters or PhD in a related field.
  • Candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills, including familiarity with technical terminology appropriate to the position and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent initiative and organizational skills with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work with students from diverse political/socioeconomic backgrounds and a wide range of physical and academic abilities.
  • Good skills in word processing, spreadsheets and computerized database systems.
  • Ability to function effectively within a matrix organizational structure, maintaining open lines of communication while being discreet, courteous and well poised.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit is desired a person dedicated to building an institutional enterprise.
  • Excellent project management skills and proven supervisory and staff development skills to effectively manage teams, inspire quality performance, and enhance morale.
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
  • Work irregular hours and weekends as needed, to ensure maximum student, faculty and staff support.

Work schedule/Availability Requirements

Work hours are specific to the requirements of this position and can include days, evenings, and weekends. Working extended hours required as needed. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and meeting the Colleges needs. Although Unity College employees are generally scheduled to work at their specifically assigned locations, there are times when travel is necessary and employees are required from time to time to attend events, meetings or work temporary assignment at any Unity College location.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of either hand for repetitive movements such as grasping, grasping and turning, and fine manipulation is required as is the ability to use the telephone for internal and external communications.
