Provide academic leadership and guidance to faculty and staff, in order to achieve consistent high quality of teaching performance, and create an environment conducive to intellectual and academic growth, as well as helping develop strong linkages and collaborations between AGDA’s academic, research, and executive education departments.

  • Key Responsibilities/Duties:
    • Lead all planning and operational activities of the academic department, to ensure that departmental objectives are aligned with AGDA’s strategic plan.
    • Responsible for the academic policy, priorities and objectives.
    • Manage academic programs effectively and efficiently, ensuring that accepted standards of teaching and ethical behavior are met.
    • Coordinate with Research and Analysis Department, the Executive Training Department and other key, national and international stakeholders to design high-quality, relevant academic programs.
    • Support providing continuing education programs, including but not limited to courses, academic certificates, or executive masters’ programs in partnership with international or national like-minded entities.
    • Lead, in collaboration with the Dean, AGDA efforts towards academic aspects of accreditation and re-accreditation at the national and international levels in collaboration with all departments to meet the requirements of relevant regulatory authorities
    • Oversee the planning and execution of all academic degree programs, development of curricula, student recruitment and retention, and faculty affairs.
    • Oversee the establishment, implementation, and monitoring of educational quality processes and manage higher education compliance.
    • Oversee the Academy’s libraries and information resources strategy and operations.
    • Guide tactical activities of the Graduate Programs Department and faculty.
    • Manage and continuously improve the student admissions process.
    • Active involvement in the Faculty Review Committee, Management Committee, Admissions Committee, Academic Committee and other committees as required.
    • Oversee the proper discharge of administrative duties of the Graduate Programs Department, including supervising personnel, financial management, and operations.
    • Manage the space needs of Academic department in cooperation with appropriate academy authorities.
    • Establish academic policies and administering instructional resources. 
    • Provide timely advice to the Dean on all academic matters in light of commercial imperatives and financial targets. 
    • Contribute to the formulation of the annual budget and the regulation of expenditure in AGDA.
    • Take responsibility for the performance management, mentoring and staff development of faculty members and other departmental staff.
    • Inspire and motivate faculty and staff to deliver high quality performance in all areas. 
    • Promote a collaborative working environment to maintain and enhance the quality of the student learning experience and the overall teaching-learning environment. 
    • Lead and oversee hiring of academic faculty and staff.
