Assistant Professor, Counselor Education. The University of Wyoming’s College of Education invites applications from dynamic, qualified candidates with a strong background in and commitment to Counselor Education. This position supports the College of Education’s Counseling MS program (School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling), and its Ph.D. program in Counselor Education and Supervision.
We expect all faculty at the University of Wyoming to be excellent teachers and be committed to innovative teaching approaches resulting in improved student learning. Faculty in the College typically teach five courses per academic year. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in academic scholarship, including grant writing and conducting/publishing research in counselor education.
- An earned Ph.D. in Counselor Education from a from CACREP accredited (or degree conferral by time of appointment), Post-graduate clinical counseling experience, A professional counseling license and/or certification; or license eligible in Wyoming. A commitment to counselor education, Evidence of an emergent line of empirical research in counselor education. Demonstration of (or clear potential for) excellence in teaching and student supervision.
- Preference may be given to candidates with a career focus in substance abuse/addictions and/or school counseling, Demonstrated experience engaging external constituents in professional development, Experience or potential for collaborating with community stakeholders and at the state level, Successful experience and interest in teaching across multiple instructional modalities, including online and hybrid formats.
