REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Workforce Development & Lifelong Learning

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares participants in life skills, work ethics, job readiness, job retention, and career development. Evaluates current employment skills and interests.
  1. Conducts one-on-one assessments to create a supplemental skill track that would assist participants with the skills needed to obtain employment.
  2. Plans, coordinates and implements workshops, seminars, and training sessions for program participants in alignment program's benchmark curriculum.
  3. Familiarizes oneself with Middlesex County’s Skill Up Program in addition to any programs designated for future use.
  4. Conducts job placement and job retention activities for program participants.
  5. Monitors job search progress and career exploration activities.
  6. Completes necessary forms and maintains records of all activities.
  7. Maintains participants' records (attendance, and progress reports) as well as any other documentation pertinent to the program.
  8. Sustains relationships with Middlesex County Office of Career Opportunity’s Case Managers and MCBOSS Case Managers in order to provide consistent and appropriate services to program participants and communicate any lack of participation in designated programming.
  9. Collects and verifies participant's participation via attendance and or job logs, ensuring compliance with State regulations.
  10. Accurately completes all documentation in a timely manner.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Counseling and/or teaching experience with educationally disadvantaged/special population and minorities
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and video conferencing platforms
  • Valid Driver's License


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

SCHEDULE: Up to 20 hours per week Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with some weekends/evenings required during specific events. Assignment ends June 30, 2023.

May require occasional travel.

This is a specially funded position, dependent for its existence upon federal, State, or other non-College operating funds, and is not funded pursuant to the regular College budget. Continued employment is always contingent upon satisfactory performance and College needs. Grant funded positions are also contingent upon continued funding. This appointment is for the specified period only. Employment beyond the expiration date of the grant is subject to appropriate provisions of existing collectively bargained agreements in effect at the time for employees covered by those agreements.
