Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF)/Senior Research Assistant (SRA) (several posts) in the Division of Health Economics, Policy and Management of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 517283), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year temporary basis (for PDF) / fixed-term basis (for SRA), with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in public health, health services research or other health-related disciplines. Those with a Master’s degree plus at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience may be considered for appointment as SRA. They should have a track record of academic research publications, strong quantitative background, and an excellent command of written and spoken English. Expertise in policy/programme evaluation, biostatistics, health economic outcomes research, data analysis (e.g. R programming), and experience in managing research projects will be highly desirable.

The appointees will participate in interdisciplinary multi-year research programmes to evaluate (i) breast cancer screening programme, (ii) genetic risk tailored cancer screening, (iii) Hong Kong genome project, and/or assess (iv) cost-effectiveness of a COVID-19 vaccine allergy safety programme, (v) spill-over impact of COVID-19 disruptions on healthcare for non-communicable diseases, (vi) economic cost of tobacco control policies. They will coordinate research projects, analyse data, prepare reports/publications, supervise junior research staff, and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
