THE LOCATION
The Yuba Community College District (YCCD) spans eight counties and nearly 4,192 square miles of territory in rural, north-central California. YCCD serves a total of 11,988 students across all of its locations in the northern Sacramento Valley, including Yuba College, Woodland Community College, and through its educational centers in Lake County, Sutter County, and outreach programs in
Colusa County.

The District provides all individuals in our diverse communities access to high-
quality, affordable higher education that is responsive to student
needs. Our mission is to inspire and advocate for student success through our passion and commitment to teaching, learning, and social justice.

YUBA COLLEGE
Yuba College opened in 1927 and serves Yuba and
Sutter Counties as a comprehensive community college
with 10 athletics programs, a theatre, CDC, and more
than 90 programs including a broad CTE portfolio. The
College has partnerships with Sacramento State and
UC Davis through 2+2 agreements and Avenue B and
Avenue M programs. Yuba College is an HSI and serves
a diverse community and student population of over
8,352. This year, Yuba College was recognized with the
Excellence in Placement Award by the Campaign for
College Opportunity. The College has a 160-acre main
campus located in Marysville, California and a 20-acre
Sutter County Center just north of Yuba City.


WOODLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Woodland Community College (WCC) became the second college in the Yuba Community College District when it was granted its accreditation in 2008, making it California's 110th community college. The college serves approximately 6,205 students annually, and is a HSI within the Sacramento region. The college has two outreach centers in the City of Williams and in the City of Clearlake.
In addition to a strong focus on transfer programs with partner institutions, WCC offers a variety of modalities to support distance learning, Career Education (CE), and other life-long learning opportunities. The college is poised to open a new Performing Arts and Culinary Services Building in late 2023 and offer competitive men's and women's athletic programs.
Students also have access to an array of student support services such as financial aid, academic counseling, TRiO, a DREAM Center, a newly opened Career and Transfer Center, Food Pantry, and other critical
retention and support services.

STUDENT SUCCESS &
ACCESSIBILITY
Provide leadership to a growing district that is committed to student success
Provide guidance on how to serve an increasingly diverse population
while focusing on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) efforts of the District and college campuses
Promote student access through emerging high-quality modalities
for instruction and student services to sparsely populated regions of the district

GOVERNANCE
Collaborate directly with the Board of Trustees to fulfill their respective roles and responsibilities to achieve effective public governance
Lead the organization toward a collaborative, supportive culture that enhances professional grow
Unite and partner with leadership throughout the District to ensure the educational needs of the diverse residents are effectively and efficiently met

THE CULTURE
Collaborate and provide leadership to two colleges that are committed to
serving the post-secondary needs of a large district, much of which is rural, as well as geographically, politically and economically diverse
Work with a team of highly qualified and successful administrators at the District level, Yuba College, and Woodland Community College who share a passion for service and excellence in higher education

GROWTH
Assist the District in adjusting to being a multi-college District
with appropriate and evolving policies, facility planning and funding, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS to apply


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The Board of Trustees seeks a proven leader committed to student success and institutional excellence. The Chancellor serves as Chief Executive Officer and reports directly to the Board of Trustees.

The successful candidate will have at least:
An earned master's degree from an accredited college or university in any field related to the mission and purpose of a community college. Doctorate preferred.

At least five years of demonstrated senior level experience in directing major components of a large, complex organization, preferably a multi- campus higher educational institution including at least three years' experience at the level of Chief Executive Officer, Chancellor, Deputy
Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, College President, Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

A politically astute individual with experience at the local, state, and federal level who will be an influential voice in Sacramento

LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT SKILLS
A visionary leader with experiences in college teaching, Academic Administration, Student Services, or Administrative Services, and who supports faculty, instruction, and adult education
A passionate and engaged leader who values and supports staff development, and acknowledges contributions
A fiscally competent leader, who will maintain the District's fiscal stability, securing sufficient resources to fund operations and provide strong controls to prevent fiscal mismanagement
An approachable and friendly leader, who will challenge, motivate, and maintain a sense of unity of purpose
An insightful leader open to innovation and change and who will align programs with emerging employment and vocational needs
A visionary team builder for online education
An effective communicator who will serve as chief educational spokesperson for the District
A caring leader who will foster and support an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access


COMMUNITY OUTREACH
A solution seeker who skillfully uses the District's influence
to form sustainable, strategic partnerships and collaborative projects with the community's educational institutions, civic organizations, businesses, and the community
A non-partisan individual who understands the importance of relationship-building within the service area as a future investment for the college and District advancement
An individual who understands the role of the Board of Trustees and is committed to maintain a solid CEO/Trustee relationship
An exceptional communicator who is willing to create an atmosphere of mutual trust, respect and open communication between the Board and the college community
