Dual Credit Liaison & Instructor-English

Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position will be to serve as Dual Credit Liaison for the English Department. The successful candidate will also teach 1-1, teaching dual credit courses either in-person at the University of Idaho or online.
The role of the Dual Credit Liaison consists of teacher training and guidance for new and existing high school teachers concerning course content, delivery, and grading policies; supporting UI Dual Credit in meeting National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnership (NACEP) accreditation guidelines; conducting and documenting site visits as needed; managing the Dual Credit assessment process and leading or participating in professional development activities with school-based Dual Credit instructors to complete a total of 8 hours of professional development per academic year. English Dual Credit classes include ENGL 101, 175, 257, and 258. Additionally, the Department is currently piloting ENGL 102 as a Dual Credit class.
The University of Idaho English department offers an undergraduate degree with concentrations in creative writing, linguistics, literature, and professional writing, as well as MA and MFA degrees. The faculty member is expected to attend faculty meetings, and to participate in committees at the department level and at the college or university level.
Appointment renewal for this position is considered contingent upon the continuation of work and/or funding.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in English or Education
- Experience teaching first-year writing
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with teacher training or supervision
- Previous experience working with high school students and/or faculty/staff
- Experience as a coordinator or administrator of dual credit or related fields
- Previous experience with program assessment
- Experience working collaboratively with faculty and staff
