Enrollment Counselor

About the Opportunity

Northeastern University's Roux Institute is designed as an engine of innovation, talent-building, and economic growth for Portland, Maine, and northern New England. Partnerships set our model of graduate education and research apart. With leading companies and nonprofit organizations at the table from day one, we are creating programs that are preparing the workforce to stay agile and thrive in a competitive landscape powered by artificial intelligence. We are nurturing an environment for high-impact research and innovation in computer and data science, digital engineering, the advanced life sciences and medicine, and other tech fields. And we are helping entrepreneurs launch businesses focused on and powered by technology. Together, we envision an innovation corridor that in the coming years will stretch from Boston to Portland and beyond.

Under the supervision and guidance of the Associate Director for Recruitment & Employer Engagement, the Roux Institute Enrollment Counselor will work carefully and thoughtfully to progressively move prospective students through the enrollment process. The Enrollment Counselor's strategy will include, but is not limited to
  • significant call & email conversations,
  • new student follow-ups,
  • and in-person and virtual meetings designed to attract adult undergraduate and graduate students in line with the Colleges and Campus Deans' priorities.

Additional responsibilities include group and individual counseling and advising students regarding the admission process, conducting presentations, and developing and maintaining relationships with other university offices. The Enrollment Counselor manages prospective student portfolio throughout the entire enrollment life cycle in alignment with accountabilities, conversion benchmarks, and team enrollment goals. The Enrollment Counselor role has no supervisory responsibilities, but may be accountable for coordinating and managing specific constituent relationships or projects in addition to other duties as assigned. A successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to successfully work independently, and who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

The Roux Institute is strongly committed to fostering excellence through diversity and recognizes the strength that diversity in all its forms brings to the research endeavor. We invite applications from all qualified candidates and enthusiastically welcome applications from women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and persons of any sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
