Open Rank Lecturer of Information Systems and Security

Department of Information Systems and Security

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for an open rank, nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer faculty position in the Department of Information Systems and Security that begins January 2023. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

 

Responsibilities include teaching courses in information systems management, enterprise systems, IS project management, database, web development, IS architecture, systems analysis, and design, FinTech, principles of information security, or other courses related to information systems and/or information security.

 

Other responsibilities include the following:

  • In coordination with the department chair, Assistant Dean, and Sr. Director of Development for Coles, identify and develop prospects (external organizations) for partnership opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a funded partnership program through which business partners provide financial support for department related initiatives.
  • Conduct periodic review of partnership goals and targets in collaboration with internal and external constituents.
  • Meet agreed upon partnership program financial goals.
  • Develop and execute activities and events to sustain the partnership program.

 

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

 

To teach undergraduate courses:

  • A Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to business administration, information system, information security or a closely related discipline is required.

OR

  • A Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.

 

To teach graduate courses:

  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in business administration, information system, information security or a related discipline is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Record of prior teaching on-line or hybrid courses
  • Experience with outreach and engagement with industry partners
