Visiting Assistant Professor of Nursing

 

The Department of Nursing at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, 2-year term, Visiting Assistant Professor position starting in August 2023, pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with expertise in any of the following areas: Medical Surgical Nursing, Geriatric Nursing, and Pathophysiology/Pharmacology.

 

Specific teaching assignments may include courses in rural health, medical surgical nursing I and II, pathophysiology/pharmacology, and health assessment. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, and to working closely with students.

 

Minimum qualifications include M.S. in Nursing at the time of the appointment, an unencumbered NYS RN license, and recent relevant clinical or educational experience and certification.  Preference will be given to applicants with a doctorate in nursing or a closely related field, at least three years of full-time college-level classroom and/or distance/on-line teaching experience and additional areas of nursing specialization.

 

Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, active engagement in scholarly and/or creative activities, and working closely with students in a small college environment.
